ABOUT GSA/FPS CONTRACT SITES

We train PSOs who work on federally-contracted facilities (also known as GSA contracts) and security officers beginning their career but need necessary training to be hired.

In order to be considered, there is a list of requirements that you must meet, that are listed below. For any questions, please contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions.

 The 120HR is Broken up into two parts. 40HR Weapons, and the 36HR Basic. MEB, OC, MDTS, and Handcuffing are all included in the Course. You can add the CPR on as a add on, but it is not part of the 120HR. 





REQUIREMENTS FOR FEDERAL PROTECTIVE SERVICE (FPS) CONTRACT

Not everyone will qualify for admission to a contract —Admissions process is competitive. While PSO standards can vary from one company and work location to some degree, the requirements in order to be considered for admission to the PSO Candidate Program are generally:

Speak, read, and write English

Be drug free. You will have to pass a screening for illegal drug use

Have a Social Security Card

Virginia DCJS, Maryland Armed Guard, and D.C. SPOs DO NOT have an experience requirement but must pass the state’s curriculum according to Training Standards

Be able to pass a background investigation
(criminal and credit checks)

PASS A MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND MAYBE A PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST

Be capable of frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping, up to 12 hours per day, either indoors or outdoors, during daytime or nighttime. Tests prior to employment by a client company as a PSO. You may be required to pass a physical agility test.

Federally certified PSO must meet one of theSE requirements:

3 years of security experience within the past 5 years OR
3 years of military service (active or reserve)
Graduate from a Police Officer Standard Training (POST) course
60 college credits
Reasonable combination of the above

The secret of success

The current minimum wages and benefits for PSOs working on Federal contracts in the local area are shown below. Many, if not most, of our client companies’ contracts are governed by Collective Bargaining Agreements, which can provide even higher wages and benefits. If you already have or are able to obtain a security clearance, you can earn even more.

Current Department of Labor Wage Determination Minimums

– Armed PSO Wage $20.57/hour

– Benefits (Health and Welfare) $3.71/hour

– Unarmed PSO Wage $12.51/hour

– Two-Four Weeks Vacation Annually

– Paid Holidays
